1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
8 tablespoons cocoa
1 cup sour milk (2 tablespoons vinegar and milk to make 1 cup)
2 cups flour
1 cup boiling water with 5 teaspoons soda added to it.
Mix first 6 ingredients together; then add boiling water. Bake in greased and floured 9x13-inch pan at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
