This would also be a good time to re-evaluate your family's likes and dislikes as you replenish your storage. I over-estimated how much chili my family would eat the last time I purchased an entire case. As the expiration date draws near, I'm making plans to make a donation to my local food bank before it expires. No guilt, no waste - twice blessed.

Thanks for the good-karma reminder. I do have some things nearing expiration, but more importantly, I bought a bunch of canned chicken that I don't care for. I'm sure someone else will be more than delighted to have it. I'll drop it off next time I'm in town! :)
This is very good advise! It helped me to get with it and donate the food items that I thought we needed, but never really used. It's a blessing for us and we hope the donation will be an even larger blessing to someone else.:)
