Pinto Bean Nut Bread

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup cooked pinto beans
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix and add ingredients in order given. Put in well-greased loaf pan. Bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees F.
